Everlasting Impact

Recently, I read an article recommended by the CFRE International organization. This was enlightening:

“The most financially successful nonprofits aren’t funded exclusively through well-executed annual giving programs or foundation grants.

They achieve long-term, diversified financial strength through legacy gifts — primarily bequests left in the wills of generous donors who believe strongly in their work.

If you manage a small or mid-sized nonprofit, just one legacy gift can fundamentally change your financial trajectory.”

WOW! This is an area of support First Tee has yet to explore. There are so many ways we can do this! Consider all of these options:
  1. BEQUESTS. Name First Tee of GKC as a beneficiary of a gift in your will or estate plan. Work with us and we can help determine any special use of your gift to ensure your legacy continues to be appreciated for years and years to come.
  2. Various Trust and Annuity Options. With a list of variations, trusts and annuities can provide you with a gift that gives in perpetuity or alleviate tax burdens.
  3. Real Property Gifts. Donating property to First Tee, for example, real estate or artwork can be a wonderful way to provide an impactful and transformational legacy gift.
Let me know if you would like to explore these beautiful, meaningful and lasting gifts. Best to you

I LOVE GOLF

Join the I LOVE GOLF movement!  I [fa type=”heart”] GOLF Help us become the go-to team for golf, where all kids have easy access to have fun,  make friends, learn life skills, and a love of the game.

We see kids every day, every single day, who struggle with the life skills used (and expected) on a golf course. Kids do not naturally take off their hat, shake your hand and look you in the eye. Kids do not naturally persevere when the elusive little white ball does not go where they think it should go. Kids do not naturally think about their goals in terms of “what skills they need to develop”, rather they think of the prize at the end. ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE TAUGHT TO THEM. Parents, teachers and the rest of the “village” help kids develop these skills and grow up as productive, successful people in society. What about ALL of the kids? Do ALL kids have access to learning these skills? All kids have the potential to have fun,  make friends, learn life skills, and a love of the game BUT DO THEY HAVE ACCESS? The game of golf uses all of these skills, so naturally. Expectations are set, rules are followed, respect is given and received because it is GOLF. This is a perfect game to teach our kids. This is a perfect game to practice these skills. This is a perfect game to play for their whole life!

Golf for everyone

We prove that golf is for everyone when we have the privilege of working with the YMCA Challenger kids this year. Thank you Coach Jonathan Behee for leading the golf and life skills charge with this group. We coach multiple classes with the Challenger kids scheduled in December and January, working with kids from 8 to 18 years of age. Think of when you had a chance to try something new. Did you step up to the golf tee and swing for the green?  Did you strike it clean and in the sweet spot? We know, you were hooked. Then, you know that perseverance actually works, confidence actually helps and you respect the great players for their skills and tenacity. With us, the Challenger kids learn to enjoying the experience of golf as much as the success of golf. These kids learn that golf is for everyone. The First Tee opens the door to a life outside and sport untried. We welcome all kids to the course to learn the life skills that are so tightly interwoven with the game.Outreach meets Challenger
